The fuzzy lines between print and manuscript culture in the seventeenth century.
This is very interesting, and I haven't found much literature on it--though a few important books. Could be my "bad researching skills" (see post few months back).

oooo...what an interesting question! I've heard a lot of discussion of print vs. oral cultures, but haven't heard much about ms. vs. print.

McLuhan's The Gutenberg Galaxy, which I read for my SIP, is quite dry, but does talk quite a bit about print vs. ms (though its focus is on the period right after the introduction of print). Apologies if you've already read that.
