Keeping my hands busy
...while I wait.
I figured that I really ought to make some baby shoes for my own kid. I found this linen in the scraps bin at the fabric store, and it's SO SOFT. I love it!!! I may just start a new affair with linen.
My mom still has my sewing machine, so I hand-stitched these shoes. It actually didn't take very long and has been kind of therapeutic. The onesie is just a simple applique with that awesome applique fusible stuff.

Those are darling booties. Do they stay on well? I know so many don't. Are they like Robuck (sp). Amy is here nursing baby boy and I asked her how to spell them. She didn't really know then she got a phone call. I have Braxtyn sleeping upstairs, Blake is in the living room watching Beatrix Potter and Brooke is outside playing. We wish you well in your delivery. I don't envy you. Dawn was the worse to have. I went through over 20 hours of labor!! Have a good day.

I want to gobble them up! I hope the elastic in the back works well... they remind me of the little slipper shoes that everybody raves about. =) The M on the onesie is so cute, too!

Jeannette, I wish I lived close to you so I could take sewing lessons from you! Those shoes are so sweet. They really do look a lot like Robeez...which I love! I would love to learn more about sewing. It just seems like there isn't enough time in the day. I did start a garden this year though. Very excited about that. I'll keep checking to see when the little guy arrives. Can't wait!

Did you just make a pattern off some Robeys?
If you feel like sharing, I would love to make some too...only they won't have much blue in them ;)
Hooray for being able to make our own wonderful stuff!
