Brought to you by Tom and Jerry

It's too early to be Saturday morning. Seriously. Thankfully, I just found Tom and Jerry, which Ellis thinks is absolutely hysterical. It's hard to find shows that are just as funny with the sound off. What? Using TV to entertain my child? you bet I am. I hope I get a second cup of coffee out of it, too. Because, baby, I need it this morning. (Hey, at least it's not Itchy and Scratchy.)

I just don't really have much to blog about, though. I'm super tired. We went to the ENT doctor yesterday. Uneventful. Another check on our list toward the cochlear impant. I had a nice dinner with a good friend last night over here after E went to bed. It snowed on Wednesday. I saw an old friend on Wednesday. I'm nowhere near where I want to be with my sewing projects, because I'm so tired (I'm not pregnant, why do i have to add that caveat?). Sleeping on Ellis's floor probably doesn't help.

Uh, so anyway have a good Saturday folks. Here's hoping you got to sleep later than 5.30 am!

William LOVES Tom and Jerry too! I mean he laughs and laughs over the silly antics. The rest of the time he watches with a big smile on his face. I think it is more fun to watch his reaction than the show itself. So maybe our kids have the same sense of humor?
Thinking of you.

Hey, where did you find T & J on TV?! Our boys saw it at a friends house a couple of weeks ago and they have been playing crazy cat & mouse games and reliving the antics over and over. We would be glad to find that on Sat. am.

I'm tired alot to J'net! Definitely not preggars.....when will we wake up awake? (I guess when E sleeps 8-8! :) )

I *loved* Tom and Jerry when I was younger! If I catch a show, I realize some parts of it are a little bit violent...? But I turned out okay so I'm sure it's fine. ;)

I was wondering about the cochlear implant program you have enrolled Ellis in...some programs ask parents to stop signing with their deaf children because they feel that it interferes with speech (although research says otherwise). Will your program allow you to continue signing with Ellis?

Yea, we're at Childrens Hosp of Philadelphia, and they have been FANTASTIC. I was really wary at first, but they are very good about letting families make their own educational choices and then respecting/supporting that. Most of the people on the CI team are minimally to even proficient at ASL, so that's a relief, too. We've been working a lot with the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf to project a bilingual education program, that will encourage speech through the aid of the implant, but include an ASL specialist in his IFSP and future IEP, too. :-) So we're on track it seems. People can't believe Ellis has been a candidate for so long before actual surgery (almost a year now), because we've held off for awhile to make sure other things were in place, etc. he's at a good age, now, though in terms of his language dev. it seems.
Good questions!
