A First

I'm in the middle of another post on academic angst, but first I have to interrupt with this breaking news. We have another first in the life of Ellis: Vomiting! Poor kid, we were out shopping with our friends this evening. He had a hot dog at Costco. We came home, got ready for bed, everything seemed fine, except that he was pushing his milk away, which is like unheard of, and then the Volcano of Undigested Hot Dog!

We were all stunned. All three of sat there for a couple of seconds; Ellis no doubt thinking "what just happened?" and we are thinking "what do we do with all this barf?" I have officially been barfed upon for the first time.

He seems fine now. I'm hoping it was just the hot dog (and that we do not infect anyone with a potential bug).

Anyway. Just thought you'd like to know.

NEXT AFTERNOON UPDATE: I think it was the hot dog. He seems okay; no future incidents, though he won't eat, but wants to drink milk, so I take that as a good sign. He's a little sniffly, too, which may have something to do with the eating thing.

Congrats on joining the club. It's not based on prestige but experience. Membership is loads of fun. ; )

Poor sweet Ellis. I hope his tummy feels better soon.

i can't say i've ever been barfed on. however i was once at the ER with Tracy when Anderson was running a super high fever and standing in the middle of the waiting room Tracy had Anderson in her arms and he just let it all out all over her. it almost made me toss my cookies! ick!

awww...your first barfing! how fun. you know, I've always been amazed at how quickly kizzy has recovered from that. she looks sort of surprised when it happens and then...she's pretty much okay. Of course, we did have one vomiting experience where she was miserable, even after. so the fact that he seems fine is probably a good sign. hope he's feeling okay now!

Whoa, poor buddy. Here's hopin' for the hot dog theory! I hope he is better this morning!

Aww, poor Ellis! Hotdog vomits are the WORST! Perhaps there's something in the hotdogs that don't agree with his delicate stomach... Hope it doesn't happen again.

sorry to laugh...but we had the hotdog episode as well! I had the wonderful job of cleaning it up and trying not to breath in the stench at the same time...

I have to say, you wrote it much better than I. I wasn't sure how people would take to the whole chunk post but we'll see! :)

Hope he feels better soon, I know here it's a 24 hour bug that's going around, Jamison got it the following day at work, poor guy. I luckily haven't had the pleasure of spewing from both ends!

Thinking of you as I sip my white wine, eat red beans and rice, and watch another video (boring, videos) of my music class (interesting, in spite of being videos.)

Glad to hear the tyke is feeling better. See what happens when you expose wholesome kids to junk food? *eg*

Oh no, poor guy!! I think it the first vomit in our oldest was not until he was three. I'm glad it's not a stomach flu or something -- those are nasty!

It seems like kids all across the states are throwing up lately (ATL, Chatt, Boise and poor you). And is this really the first time you've been barfed on? No sad second grade Sunday school incidents or sibling mishaps? Not a stray splat here or there?
