Great Thing #1
The first great thing emerges from the CHA.OS!
My first doll! (that's not a glorified pillow)

Definitely inspired by Olive and Archie, though I couldn't afford the pattern, so I had to make it up myself. Loved the simplicity of O and A. The Ikea Bear served as a model. For the most part I'm happy, though the legs are a bit big for the rest of the body, and I wish I had used different color for some of the face detail. Too washed out. I wish the face had more personality. It's not bad, but not quite what I was going for. The arms are nice and floppy and huggable. I think Ellis will like it.

That's darling! I love the corduroy shoes. You have insipred me to make Anna a doll, one day. My mom asked to give me a sewing machine for Christmas, but I can't have one yet- we'd have that kind of chaos too often and I'd never finish the other projects around here. But someday, and I can't wait!

Two things:
1. You can use my good artist Prisma colored pencils to add soft color to the face. I will be glad to do it for you if you feel tentative about it.
2. It would be nice if you embroidered the date on the doll, and maybe E's name. Or do a fabric transfer.

J, I've been meaning to comment on this doll for a while so... This is great! Does Ellis take to it? I thought of making one for Eden but time is not my friends these days. Great Job!
