Fun times with fun people

Still in Louisiana folks!!! And having a great time.

Reporting to you live from Baby Jail.

Ellis's first Easter basket. He got Cheerios, because his mean mom won't let him have candy yet.

It's been really hot here. Ellis enjoys his first ever dip in the pool.

Easter boy.

I just got an email from my stepsister with pics of my nephew, and they gave him Cheerios for Easter, too; they hid his in plastic eggs. =) I cracked up that you guys were on the same wavelength.

needless to say, I have a pile of easter presents from the great-grandmothers waiting for his return!!!

Great pictures! What fun! My daughter's preschool class had an Easter eggs hunt, and the eggs she brought home were filled with chocolate choking hazards. I immediately confiscated them. Glad to see there are other "mean moms" out there. The eggs I sent for the hunt were filled with Gerber fruit snacks.

Way to go on the mean mom thing... I remember a friend harassing me for not letting my kid eat french fries at 11 months! Whatever. ; )

Ellis is getting soooo big. What a cutie!

Love the crib shot...Ellis looks like he's having such a blast in all the pics...I wanna go swimming too!

I put fruit loops in the eggs that I hid for some little friends of ours. They do have a bit more sugar, but they're fun and colorful for little fingers to pick up. Next year I'm considering gold fish crackers...I think that would be a fun idea. What I really wanted to do was squeeze some peeps inside. I think it would be fun to open an egg and find a sugary chick hidden inside.....I don't eat 'em...I just sqeeze them... Oh, and raisins, those tiny boxes of raisins..another good for you snack....except they don't rattle.

The gambas were fantastic. Even in Chicago, three gambas in one room is a rarity and it was such a great concert. I've been catching up on your blog this morning. Beautiful baby pictures and congratulations on finishing your thesis. That's too bad about the funding for the university in my old neighborhood, but hopefully they'll come to their senses next year.

yeah - he's your first...

my mom used to bake a chocolate cake (with icing) for each of us at 6 months old, and let us just dig in, face first.
