They do Lent Specials at fast food restaurants out here, too! I had never seen that before ... I almost took a picture of the KFC billboard advertising a buy one get one free Lent special. Ah, culture shock.

Yea! I'd never seen it before either. I assumed that it was because Louisiana is predominantly Catholic, but maybe it's a Mid/West South thing. (Because I never saw it Georgia, either.)

Louisiana is definitely the first place I've lived where I've seen Lenten specials. I suppose the residents of NC and Philly are a little more heterogenous than the mainly Catholic population here!
