and counting..

I'm getting very excited for my seminar in Italy on Machaut. They just put up the provisional program on their website. In short:

This summer's program will allow an exploration of a particularly wide range of subjects, from the analysis of the sacred and secular compositions to the text-music relationship, and from archival studies for his biography to codicological and iconographic studies on manuscripts sources.

I am so excited!!!! To be honest, I really had no idea what this seminar was actually going to be about. I just knew that it is going to be about Machaut (pronounced Ma-show) and the 14th c and that the musicologists on board are people I never expected to get a chance to meet much less take a seminar with! Enough reason to go. Now that there is a clearer description, I see even more how amazing it is going to be part of this. You just don't get a chance to study archival and manuscript sources everyday. Woohoo!!!

I think 3 or 4 or 5 Americans? I'm not really sure. I think there'll be around 20 or so students? Still not sure there.
