making cookies
On my way North to Ohio I stopped overnight in Asheville, NC. My good friend and housemate from my senior year, Esther resides there with her husband and little girl Avery. Avery is almost 2 years old, this was my first time to meeting her. She was delightful and really warmed up to me. We had a nice visit. Made cookies, played with stickers, read a few books, but mainly she played nicely while Momma and I caught up. We hadn't seen each other in over 2 years. Wow it was good to visit and now I know that Asheville is less that 2.5 hours away from my little village of Franklin Springs.
For dinner I made a chicken curry recipe from the Joy of Cooking. Esther, Brian and I sat around told stories, shared a bit of music (Brian even played me a song he wrote) and just had a fantastic visit. I do love visiting old friends. Hopefully I'll see Esther a bit more, especially now that I know she's really not that far up the road.
