sisters

I spent the weekend in Chattanooga. It took me 4.5 hours to come what should have taken 3.5. Argh! Atlanta traffic is the pits. I kept seeing signs declaring that there were delays and that I should seek an alternate route. One problem...I didn't know an alternate route and was stuck crawling along on 75N. Lesson learned. I'm buying a good GA map so I can learn an "alternate route", because I like coming to Chattanooga.

I was here in Chattanooga because my sister Sarah Ginny and Nat were in town with my new niece. So I couldn't pass up the opportunity to visit when they would be around. They were here in town because one of Nat's cousins (a fellow librarian) was getting married.

We all had a grand time. On Saturday morning all three of us went to IHOP with Fuller & Genevieve in tow. And we celebrated Fuller's birthday a week late...it was fun to see him actually take interest in opening the gifts. A fun glimpse of what Christmas will be like.

And then yesterday afternoon Alicia and I watched Genevieve and her cousin Marin while their folks attended the ceremony. That was an adventure, especially when Alicia magically got them both to sleep at the same time. You'll have to see Alicia's posting on that ability!

This morning in church I got to hold Genevieve through a good portion of church. She was peacefully asleep for a good while. Then she woke up and cried, that's when I gave her back to her mom.

Well that's a really brief abstract from the weekend! And here's a photo from after church.
