Last Thursday Sr. Nancy Murray, OP was on campus to perform a one woman show about the life of Catherine of Siena. She did a fantastic job. I try and help out my friend Sr. Catherine Colby, OP as often as I can. Sr. Catherine is the director of the Center for Dominican Studies here at ODU and her Center was the official sponsor of the event. Anyhow last week I was out in the lobby just before Sr. Nancy's performance and my friend Ginny captured this hilarious photo. You can't see it but Sr. Nancy was being silly trying to grab a cookie for the reception afterwards. It was a fun evening.
p.s. Sr. Nancy is Bill Murray's sister. They come from a family of 9 kids!
Sunday was the big wedding shower day for my good sister-friend Morgan. Morgan and I have known each other for almost 6 years now. She is a delight and a joy to have in my life. She's fun to be with, she challenges me to be faithful, and well I'm just grateful to have her as a friend. She and Ben are getting married on May 5th. I am honored to serve as their Maid-of- Honor.
The wedding shower was a large undertaking, there were about 50 ladies in attendance, lots of yummy food was eaten and good gifts were opened. Now we're in countdown to the big day. Then Morgan and Ben will be off to a short honeymoon and then off to Alaska to do seasonal work for about 5 months.
Lots of changes in store.
This actually happened on March 27th but I kept forgetting to post this. My car officially hit 200,000. It happened as I was leaving the Starbucks drive thru so I quick pulled over in the parking lot and pulled out my camera phone. I love my Honda! Thanks Jeff for selling me such a great car!
So I'm in a wedding on May 5th. Here I am trying it all on and taking a self portrait. That's what I have to do because I don't have a full length mirror in my house. The dress needs to be slightly altered in the shoulders but otherwise this is what I'll look like. Maybe the hair will be shorter but current polls indicate I should keep it long. Yeah for losing 30+ lbs. I feel great!
