Birthday Girl!

Today Sarah Ginny turns 25! Wow, it's a strange feeling when the youngest turns 25. Unlike Alicia I have no memory of when Sarah was born, I was just 2.5 years old when she came along. So Happy Birthday to you! Sarah Ginny aka Mrs. Osborn to those 5th graders! Hope you have a good day...your gift truly is in the mail.

in town

Mom and I arrived safe and sound, here in Chattanooga, right around 11:30pm last night. What should have been a 6.5-7 hour trip ended up taking 9 hours with only 1 stop. AHHHH! It took us about 3 hours to go about 100 miles. I-75 is under some sort of construction and essentially 3 lanes of traffic eventually have to funnel down to 1 lane. It was maddening how slow traffic was going. I did get pretty frustrated by the whole ordeal. After we stopped for gas mom ended up driving the rest of the way to Chattanooga.

I will NOT be going home on 75. Mom has gone another way using I-65. I am willing to try just about anything to avoid that craziness on the Sunday after Thanksgiving!

Thankfully we had a good Audio-book to listen to, we listened to Between, Georgia, by Joshilyn Jackson. We didn't finish it, I think we have about 2 discs left. Good book.

I finally lost it!

I finally lost some weight. For the last few months I've been bouncing back and forth between a few pounds. This past week I finally lost some weight. And a whopping 3lbs! I'm so excited. Only 7lbs until that purse is mine!!

Tomorrow i'm off to Chattanooga with Mom. I'm taking a half day and leaving at noon. I'll drive to Dayton and then we'll leave in her car. Dad is already there and Nat and Sarah will come some time late tomorrow night. Yeah for family get togethers!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today is my friend Jessika's birthday. She turned 25 + 4. She lives in Pittsburgh so I obviously my Birthday celebration for her had to be a bit creative. When I got to my office this morning I made a little bday sign, took a quick self portrait and sent this through cyberspace to her. Not sure why my cheeks are so red.

Happy Birthday Jessika!

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Midland

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

The South

Today that little baby is all grown up. Today my sister Alicia (aka Alli) turns 30. Wow, my sister is 30. Crazy. Well, Happy Birthday Alicia! I hope your birthday in a box arrives on time for the big day. Otherwise you'll just get to keep partying on tomorrow. Getting older is an interesting thing. My sister has accomplished quite a few things in her young life. I must say that one of my favorite things is a little boy called Fuller.

Well Happy Birthday big sister! I look forward to celebrating at Thanksgiving.

Happy Birthday Friend!

Today my dear Friend Morgan turns 27! I've known Morgan for almost 6 years now. I first met her at Kent State when she was a super senior and living at the Meadows. Only heres the thing, I didn't know she was a student I thought she was a CCO staff member and in fact I thought she was Shelby, before I first knew who Shelby actually was. HA! Anyhow Happy Birthday Morgan, I'm honored to be your sisterfriend. I'm looking forward to celebrating your birthday next weekend with our Mom's at the Over the Rhine Concert.

p.s. Morgan and ended up being roommates during my last year at Kent.

6 things...

My cousin, Pixie tagged me to write 6 random facts about myself. So here goes,

1. I am 27 and live in a Freshman residence hall. I work as a campus minister and one of the job requirements for my particular position requires that I live in. No worries, I have an actual apartment. When I tell people I live in residence hall they often think I just have a regular room.

2. I have a degree in library science. I love books and research. Getting my masters in Library Science was a perfect fit.

3. I am going to visit my good friend Diber in Philly. I'm not going until the beginning of January but I am super excited. Visiting friends in their environment is one of my favorite things to do.

4. I am in working on losing weight by doing the Weight Watchers program and to date I've lost 21lbs. It's great, I'm loving the way I'm feeling!!

5. I put my Christmas tree up this morning. I haven't decorated it yet, maybe tonight after church. But I spend the holidays with my folks and rarely get to enjoy my little tree for more than a week or two. So I decided that I'd put it up early so I'd have more time to enjoy my tree. I never thought I'd be one of those early tree people.

6. I love NPR. I wake up to it, which can sometimes be a bit strange. Strange because I'm not always sure if I was dreaming about something or if I heard it on the news. I love NPR.

Mr. Way too Liberal

I heard about this ad on NPR this morning. I found it on Gov. Rick Perry's campaign website. Gov. Perry is running for re-election in Texas. This ad is just simply clever and a good spoof of a popular beer add. Be sure to listen for the low blow to the French. I'll be so excited when Tuesday comes and goes. I'm all for good campaigning but this weekend on TV here in Ohio it seems as the only ads running on TV are mudslinging campaign ads.

It was kind of an experiment, a new receipt I learned at Weight Watchers. 15oz can of pumpkin puree mixed with devil's food cake mix. It really didn't even taste that good. However the other day I made another version, pumpkin with spice cake. I turned that mix into mini muffins. They tasted good, I still have some left. I've been eating them in the morning while I drink my coffee. I ended up putting the broken cake into a ziplock. I think maybe I'll make some kind of desert with it.
