my big sis asked when i colored my hair...i did that back at the beginning of the summer. however i can't say that it's been my favorite. i bought new color to cover it up, but when i was at home in kent over graduation weekend i didn't get the chance to do it...so it'll have to wait for a while. i did however get a fantastic haircut on friday...i would say that it is the best hair cut i have had in over 3 years...love it, love it, love it! It is helping the growing out process!
There's nothing like putting something together to make you feel industrious. I just got a new couch and a new kitchen table. The couch needed the feet put on and the table and chairs needed to be put together. And I did it all by myself. Sure feels good. My living room/eating area is a little fuller but that's okay...I am thankful to have a place to eat meals at with students. Maybe I'll remember to take photo to show the blogworld.
On another note I graduated from Kent State University on Saturday morning. What a good feeling, to be all done. I wondered many a night as to whether or not I had the energy to get it all done. So thankful! A good feeling of accomplishment. I know though that I never would have gotten it done without tons of love and support. However I must say that my college graduation is still counted as the best day of my life! I felt like I was on cloud 9 all day long.
Me & Jana (my new co-worker) at a recent baseball game!
Three days from now I will officially be finished with my higher education. For the time being that is. I am slowly finishing up the details with my practicum notebook. I can't wait to be done with it. It has become a frustration, but that is more or less because I put too much of it off until the last minute. I hand it in sometime before lunch on Friday. Thankfully I have a very gracious advisor who has been on vacation for the last few weeks so Friday was perfect timing for him.
We are almost done with RA training. Things wrap up tomorrow. Today we did "Behind Closed Doors". It's a role play to help the RAs work on confrontation skills. And since this isn't a dry campus they will get to have some real life opportunity to confront underaged drinking. It will be interesting living in the residence hall with 260 first year students. Thankfully they decided to make my floor exclusively women.
Well I need to get back to work...
So I'm not sure I actually want to confess this but it's too funny not to. Last night I went to Target to get a few things for my apartment and then decided that I wanted to go to Panera to get some dinner. So just as I pulled in to the parking lot of Easton Towne Center my phone rang. Meaning I didn't pay attention to where I left my car. Now let me explain this is a HUGE shopping complex and I couldn't exactly remember where the Panera was. So I just walked around until I found it. I order my dinner (the got my order wrong and I didn't realize it until I got home).
I walk out the doors of Panera and realized I had absolutely no idea where I left my car. I walked around for over an hour. And by that point it was dark and I was getting super frustrated. About 45 minutes into my wandering I finally called my co-worker/friend Jana to come and pick me up. Jana and I then rode through parking lots until we found my little Honda. Embarassing! You can bet that next time I got to the Easton Towne Center I'll be paying close attention to where I leave my car.
I am officially a resident of the city of Columbus, Ohio. We moved all my stuff here a week ago today, but I had to return to Kent to finish up my Cataloging & Classification course. I returned to Columbus on Friday afternoon. I spent all day yesterday unpacking and moving stuff around my apartment. I have everything I own out of boxes and for the most part scattered around my apartment.
Ohio Dominican is right by the airport so it's going to take a while to get used to planes taking off in front of my windows. They aren't too frequent, but they are LOUD!
The Football players are moving onto campus today. Manyof the 160 are moving into my building because the new res halls are ready until the 17th. So we shall see what the noise level gets like. I am excited to have folks in the building...even though I've only been here 2 days it's been too quiet for my taste.
Time to finish my coffee and get ready to meet and greet football players and their parents.
